Easy Easter word search for children
This free printable Easter word search uses a 12 × 12 grid with ten familiar words. The Easy preset places words only left-to-right or top-to-bottom. This makes it suitable for beginners learning to scan rows and columns, without requiring backward or diagonal searches.
Vocabulary in this worksheet
Search for EASTER, EGG, BUNNY, BASKET, HUNT, CHICK, SPRING, FLOWER, GRASS and PASTEL. Read the list together before starting. Invite children to point to the first letter of a word, then follow its letters in order.
Quick egg-hunt writing prompt
After solving, choose three words—such as BASKET, HUNT and EGG—and write a short description of an imaginary egg hunt. What color is the basket? Where might the eggs be hidden? There are many possible answers.
Color and sorting activity
Sort the word list into things you might see outdoors, items used during an egg hunt, and words connected with spring. A word can belong to more than one group. Encourage children to explain their choices.
Print a worksheet and answer key
Select “Print puzzle” to get a clean worksheet with the letters and word list. Select “Print answer key” for a separate highlighted solution. In most desktop browsers, “Save as PDF” is available inside the print dialog.
Change the difficulty
Replace words in the editor, or change the grid size and choose “New puzzle.” This page starts with Easy word directions. For a harder custom puzzle, open the Puzzle Maker and select Medium or Hard.
