How to use Word Search Studios
Play online
Open any themed puzzle. Drag from the first letter of a word to its last letter. Words may be horizontal, vertical, diagonal, or backward. On devices where dragging is difficult, tap the first letter and then the last letter to select a straight line.
Make a custom puzzle
Open the Puzzle Maker, enter a title and one word per line, and choose a grid size. Use letters A–Z; spaces and punctuation are removed. Press New puzzle to create a fresh layout. If words cannot fit, use a larger grid or shorten the list.
Print a worksheet
Select Print puzzle and choose your printer or Save as PDF. The controls are hidden in print view. For the matching answer key, select Print answer key without generating a new puzzle in between.
Classroom ideas
Use the word list as a spelling warm-up, ask students to define five terms, or pair the worksheet with a short writing activity. Puzzles support vocabulary practice but are not a substitute for teaching the topic.
